About
Marie Bergman, Costume Designer, freelance and entrepreneur. Marie was born in Trondheim Norway (1965). After graduation from high school, she worked in the travel industry for a couple of years as a guide and stewardess. She moved to Sweden in 1987.
In 2003 she graduated from Academy of Cutting and Tailoring in Stockholm, in design, sewing, and pattern making, for women and men. Shortly after she started her own company.
Marie is a costume/apparel designer and pattern maker for film, TV, dance and live performances. She has worked on several TV series and feature movies and short movies, and commercials in Sweden. Her recent projects is the TV Series First Responders/Åreakuten (2019), exterior shot in Åre, Sweden, and the interiors in Vilnius, Lithuania. It ́s a drama of ten episodes, produced by SF for Viaplay.
Dance performance Ingmar Bergman through the choreographers eye (2018,2016), the film with same title, awarded in Golden Prague 2018. Dance performance Det är i Mötet det sker (2017), with premiere during Bergmanweek at Fårö the same year. There is a documentary under production of the project, and Marie is also a co-producer, hopefully done during 2020. The feature film Uppsala kidnappningen (2016). Marie has acted in several commercials in Sweden, and she is currently the co-founder, owner and designer of Celmar Sweden, a furniture, accessories, and clothing company. www.celmar.se
She lives on a small island outside Stockholm, named Storholmen, with her husband Ingmar Bergman Jr. and their dog Jimmi. Her child Olivia, also her stepchildren Oscar and Isabel, have moved out from the house, busy making their own careers. She is passionate about dance, love to watch contemporary performances and ballet. Nature, and outdoor sports such as sailing and boating is an essential part of the family.
Marie has her studio located by the sea, at the little island, only 15 minutes from Stureplan in Stockholm. Her work in the studio consist of; designing and making clothes for customers, private as well as different productions. She does a lot of textile work for setdesign, remake and new upholstery for furnitures, to mention a few. Marie also design and makes prototypes for Celmar Sweden ́s collections.
