“Everything has its rhythm. Find the rhythm and you have the story.”
Alexandru Timosca began his career as a professional classical musician before transitioning to film. He studied photography and film, working in lighting and camera departments, and later became a cinematographer. Mentored by acclaimed DPs Linus Sandgren and Hoyte Van Hoytema, Alexandru developed an organic, intuitive style that places people at the story's center.
He has worked across drama, documentaries, commercials, and art films. His films have competed at Cannes, Locarno, Venice, and the short Oscars, winning Grand Prizes in Odesa and Berlin.
“My storytelling is inspired by people's interactions with daily life and nature, and our lives are a continuity of moments. Being an observer of what happens around me and in life in general is what cinematography means to me”.
