About
Simon is a costume designer with a distinctive eye for the extra detail, while maintaining a strong commitment to script accuracy and natural, character-driven design. His first design assignment was an SVT film in 1999, after which he spent a period working within fashion alongside selected advertising projects.
Since 2015, Ekrelius has worked exclusively in costume design. He has held long-term contracts with BBC and Sky Arts, and has served as Head of Department on numerous award-winning productions.
His commercial work includes projects for Samsung, Adidas, Vidal Sassoon, campaigns linked to the Super Bowl for Channel 4, and British American Tobacco.
Simon has lived and worked in Toronto and London, and is now based in Stockholm, Sweden.
